The third annual film festival attracted roughly 3,000 attendees Feb. 17-19, including filmgoers at Channelside Cinemas and people who took part in accompanying festivities.

"The first two years we were establishing ourselves and now we have a following," said Francis Vayalumkal, founder of IIFF Tampa.

Vayalumkal said he'd like to add screenings leading up to the film festival and involve film distributors in it as well.

About 30 films appeared in the most recent festival. The event aims to help people network, inspire them to make films and help them break into the industry.

The Indo-US Chamber of Commerce    , based in Tampa, presented the film festival.

Homeowners Choice Inc.    (NASDAQ: HCII) was the event sponsor. The Westin Tampa Bay    was opening night sponsor and Cancer Care Centers of Florida was closing night sponsor.
